BW Elara is a joint venture between BW Offshore and BW Group. BW controls a fleet of over 400 vessels transporting oil, gas and dry commodities, with its 200 LNG and LPG ships constituting the largest gas fleet in the world. The company combines deep maritime expertise and a world-class engineering team to extend the boundaries of conventional desalination through the development of floating desalination units (FDUs).

Ready-built for Rapid Deployment

BW Elara’s Floating Desalination Units (FDUs) are barge-mounted seawater reverse osmosis systems equipped with a proprietary seawater intake system, towed to your coastal location.

After connection to an onshore power supply, they can be rapidly commissioned, delivering potable or industrial-grade desalinated water within weeks.

The FDUs can also be connected to existing seawater intake and brine discharge facilities. Alternatively, brine discharge can be managed through flexible dispersion lines.
